Our story.
What is the Cross-Sell Report?

The Cross-Sell Report shows vehicle titles in a selected area, or by selected dealers. Reports include passenger cars, light trucks, vans, and med/heavy duty trucks. We do not provide reports for motorcycles, boats, or RVs.

What is the data source for the Cross-Sell Report?

Cross-Sell purchases data from state offices governing vehicle titles. In most states, this is the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

May I choose my own criteria for my report?

Cross-Sell customers may customize their reports using a variety of criteria including: Make, Seller location (individual, city, and/or county), Buyer location (ZIP code, city, and or county), and Model year.

What period of time is covered on a Cross-Sell Report?

Each Cross-Sell Report reflects perfected vehicle titles issued by the DMV during a given month.

Note: There is a lag time between a vehicle’s sale date and the vehicle’s title date. For example, a dealership’s sales from the latter part of April will most often be reflected on the May Cross-Sell Report. Please do not expect the Cross-Sell Report to tally exactly with a dealerships monthly sales report.

Are new and used registration data combined on a single report?

New registration data is priced, reported, and delivered separate from used vehicle data. Used data is available for most states; customers may inquire verbally or check the website to find which states offer both. Cross-Sell Interactive users have the ability to combine new and used vehicle data.

Can I get the automotive sales report data electronically?

All reports are available electronically via Cross-Sell Interactive®. The Cross-Sell Market Analysis, SnapShot, Statewide Summary, and MarketINTEL Reports are deliverable by email in PDF format. The detail records used to create the Market Analysis are available in a variety of formats, including PDF, XLS and DBF.

Who do I call, if I have questions about reports, billing, etc.?

How do I set up a monthly account?

Please call your customer service representative for assistance in setting up a monthly account.

How will I be billed for my monthly report?

An invoice will be sent inside the monthly report packet.

When can I expect my reports each month?

Reports generally arrive midway through the following month (i.e., April reports should come in mid-May). Clients ordering data for more than one state should be aware that all reports will be mailed together when the last state is ready.

May I order data on a one-time basis?

Certainly. Historical data may be more appropriate for some customers than current data. Be sure to indicate that you want a one-time order.

What are my payment options for a one-time order?

Monthly customers will be billed to their normal account. Non-monthly customers can pay by credit card. Please contact customer support for more information.

What is the turnaround time for historical one-time orders?

Most orders are processed within 48 hours. Certain large or unusual data requests might require additional processing time. Please contact customer support for a specific ETA for your order.

What do I need to have ready when calling for a quote?

Since the reports can be completely customized, it is sometimes difficult to choose the many criteria options. Please have the following information before calling:

  • How will your company be using the data? Is there more than one potential use?
  • What fields of data are absolutely necessary (i.e. Lienholder? Seller?)
  • Do you need to see New vehicle registration data, Used vehicle data, or both?
  • Do you need your report to reflect all sales by a dealership or group of dealers, no matter where the buyer is located? Choose this grouping by individual dealership, city, or county.
  • Do you need your report to reflect all purchases by customers residing in a specific area, no matter where they bought the vehicles? Choose this grouping by ZIP code, city, or county.
  • Do you need to see Options #3 and #4 (above) combined?
  • Would you like us to include All Makes, or only a specific set? (ie. Imports, luxury, GM).
  • On a Used vehicle report, do you need all Used sales, or only those by franchise dealers?
  • On a Used vehicle report, would you like the past 6 model years included (Standard)? Or would you like older vehicles included?
  • Would you like a summarized analysis of the records chosen from your criteria, or will you need individual VIN detail for each vehicle record?
  • Would you like this data in electronic format? If yes, in what format would you like the data? (PDF, DBF, XLS, SDF) If you do not know what format, what software will you be using to manipulate the data?
